You Can Know God Personally

KNow God

God created you, loves you, and desires for you to know Him personally. The Bible tells us that through Jesus Christ, we can receive forgiveness, have a restored relationship with God, and experience new life.

You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to God. He invites you to come to Him just as you are.

WE ALL HAVE A PROBLEM: SIN

Every one of us has sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standard. Sin separates us from God and leaves us unable to save ourselves through our own goodness or effort.

The Bible says:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

— Romans 3:23

No amount of good works, religious activity, or trying to be a better person can remove our sin. We need God's forgiveness and grace.

GOD LOVES YOU

Even though we have sinned, God has not turned away from us. He demonstrated His love by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to make a way for us to be forgiven and brought back into relationship with Him.

The Bible says:

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

— Romans 5:8

God's love is not based on how good we are. Jesus willingly took our place and paid the price for our sin through His death on the cross.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE WAY

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world to save sinners. He lived a sinless life, willingly gave His life on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the grave.

Because Jesus conquered sin and death, forgiveness and eternal life are available to everyone who places their faith in Him.

Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

— John 14:6

Salvation is not earned. It is a gift of God's grace received through faith in Jesus Christ.

TURN TO GOD

The Bible calls us to repent and believe in Jesus Christ.

To repent means to turn away from our sin and turn toward God. It means recognizing that we need Him and trusting Him with our lives.

Repentance isn't simply feeling sorry for our sins. It is a change of heart and direction.

The Bible says:

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”

— Acts 3:19

God promises forgiveness to those who come to Him in repentance and faith.

PUT YOUR FAITH IN JESUS

You don't become a Christian simply by attending church, being a good person, or knowing about Jesus.

Being a Christian means placing your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

The Bible says:

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

— Romans 10:9

If you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again, you can call upon Him today.

A PRAYER OF FAITH

There is no special formula or set of words that saves us. Salvation comes through genuine faith in Jesus Christ. If you are ready to turn to God and place your faith in Jesus, you can pray something like this:

“God, I know that I am a sinner and that I need Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died for my sins, and that He rose again from the dead. I turn from my sin and place my faith in Jesus Christ. Please forgive me, change my heart, and help me follow You. I confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for Your grace, forgiveness, and the new life You have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
